Nicer still would be making it not highway=*, and doing the routing part with relations or some other Way-oriented mechanism. But tagging the position of the pole would be nicer because the hardware is the target for pedestrians wanting to become passengers. Should that be moved here? I tag as part of the Way myself, and use User:rjmunro's suggestion - linked above - for tagging the direction-of-travel of the bus stop. Related Mailing list Threads: First message in the threaded view of the archive linked below: If it is an some distance from the road a footpath can be added from outside the shelter to the road. In each of the above cases a point would be placed where the actual infrastructure is situated. I propose that normally a discrete node should be placed in the position of the pole or the shelter to one side of the road and that the software should be expected to snap it to the nearest Road for routing purposes. A row of three bus stops close together on one side of the road where different services use different stops.A bus stop set back some distance from the road. Two bus stops or opposite sides of the road offset by a number of meters but still clearly a pair. Two bus stops, exactly opposite each other.A single bus stop on one side of the road. There is a debate about how this should be encoded and whether the stop should be part of the Way or beside the Way. Node beside the road or node in the Way itself?Ī bus stop identifies a place where people can board a bus.
